Instagram Stories are Here

And They’re Good for your Brand.
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Snapchat must be feeling pretty good right now. Especially since Instagram’s latest update is strikingly familiar to Snapchat’s signature feature.
Not only does Instagram have more daily users than Snapchat (300 million vs 150 million), but now Instagram Stories allow users to share updates or moments that might not otherwise align with the brand persona built on their profile. Think about a company or an influential user you follow on Instagram. For the most part, their posts are fairly consistent, whether that means colour scheme, filters or the type of content. When scanning their profile grid, most of the images will be similar and create a uniform look and feel. Since Stories only appear for 24 hours, this becomes the perfect avenue to share a different kind of post without going off the overall brand.
So what do you think of Instagram Stories? Will it flop or flourish? Share your thoughts in the comments section. And follow us on our new corporate Instagram account: @pearlstreetinc We are excited to share posts AND stories with you!
